For doulas

Built for the professionals doing the work.

Whether you are exploring postpartum care as a career or you have years of experience, the Aurea framework is designed to make your competence visible, verifiable, and portable.

Make training comparable

A shared, public competency framework helps families and employers understand what your training covers — across any provider.

Earn verifiable recognition

A public registry would let each record be checked by the families and institutions you serve.

Shape the standards

The standards are developed in the open. Working doulas are central to that process.

The path to a credential

A future Aurea credential would combine training, a standardized assessment, and continuing education — administered independently of any single training provider.

1

Complete training

Finish a program from a provider. Course completion is the first step — not the credential itself.

2

Meet the framework

Referencenstrate the published competencies described in the open standards.

3

Pass the assessment

A standardized exam validates that the required knowledge and skills were met.

4

Maintain & renew

Continuing education keeps your record current through the renewal cycle.

Training provider approval

No training provider is currently approved, accredited, aligned, or endorsed by Aurea. A provider-review framework is open for public guidance.

Any future recognition of a provider — including any provider related to Aurea's founders — must follow published criteria, conflict-of-interest controls, and independent governance review. It cannot be automatic.

Common questions

Frequently asked

Do I need to retrain to be recognized?

Not necessarily. Once a framework is established, a provider-review process may describe how existing training maps to the requirements. Nothing is approved today.

Is this only for postpartum doulas?

The first track is Postpartum & Newborn Care (PNC). The framework is written to be extendable to related roles over time.

How do I give input?

Join the Founding Community. Each milestone opens a structured public-comment period, and changes based on input are documented in the next revision.
